India lifts wheat export restrictions after three-year ban

India approved the export of 500,000 tons of wheat flour and related products from January 2024 onwards, lifting restrictions that have been in place since May 2022, on expectations of a strong harvest. The decision allows India to take advantage of overseas demand amid the best monsoon in five years.
