Insurance Tops India's Consumer Complaint List, Data Reveals

India's consumer dispute redressal system is under pressure, with insurance accounting for nearly a quarter of all cases. Insurance grievances rose to 2.57 lakh in FY25, mostly due to claims-related issues. 69% of general and health insurance grievances are linked to claims, mainly delays in settlement and rejections. Mis-selling and uneven claims handling practices are also emerging concerns.
