FIs sell 48 crore HDFC Bank shares amid 26% Q1 crash

Foreign institutional investors reduced their stake in HDFC Bank by 3.62 percentage points in Q3, selling 47.95 crore shares amid a governance crisis that dropped the lender's stock 26% and wiped $16.3 billion off its market value. FII holdings fell to 44.05% at end-March from 47.67% in December. Mutual funds increased their holdings from 26.66% to 29.54%.
