Continuing with our commitment to improve the educational facilities at Wada, Motilal Oswal Foundation completed transformation of two more schools. R.R.J Vidyamandir-Tuse and Shreemati Surekha H.Gardi Svajan Vidyalaya, Khaire-Aambivali -both the schools were constructed over three decades ago and were in dilapidated state, making it difficult for students to attend classes.
By renovating the schools and providing essential facilities, Motilal Oswal Foundation has created a more conducive learning environment for close to a thousand students every year. Improved infrastructure like safe drinking water, hygienic washrooms, well-lit classrooms, and ventilation will significantly enhance the students' well-being and ability to focus on their studies. The rainwater harvesting system at Tuse School is an added benefit, promoting water conservation. The overall impact is likely to be increased motivation and improved learning outcomes for the students.
The building of B L Singhda Madhyamika Vidyalaya was badly damaged due to seepage of rainwater from the terrace. Due to leakage, the classrooms did not have any electrical fittings; they had to put buckets in the rooms to collect dripping water. The washrooms were in such state that the students used to be scared to use them. MO Foundation undertook the complete makeover of the school. We turned the terrace into an activity hall, which is now one of the biggest event space in the area. All the classrooms were fitted with lights and fans, and were freshly painted. New sanitation units were built with running water and hand-wash station. There is independent drinking water station fitted with filter. Rainwater harvesting system was installed and the entire structure was secured with grills and gates. We have also provided computers, notebooks and textbooks, science lab and other facilities for the students. Our intervention has boosted confidence and happiness of 400+ students and school staff.
B.Y. Patil Vidyalaya, Asanas is the first school that the Foundation revived. The school is located in a very remote area and caters to children from multiple nearby villages. This secondary school is the only school available for 450+ students of Asanas and nearby villages. The Foundation has built sanitation units, drinking water station, new classrooms, and boundary wall and repaired the existing structure. The school used to face water issues, to resolve the same rainwater harvesting system was also installed. The renewed school became a topic of discussion in the entire area. Students and teachers were thrilled to use the new facilities. Along with infrastructure, we also focus on the holistic development of students and teachers. While teachers are helped with subject specific trainings, for students we have provided English Language lab, sports kits, library, and material for science lab and career guidance sessions.
Motilal Oswal Foundation (MOF) achieved another milestone in its journey of providing quality education to the children at Wada. On 29th March, we dedicated a newly transformed school premises to 450+ students of New English School at Sonale, Wada. This school was established in 1967, thus the structure was in dilapidated state, at places to such an extent that it was dangerous for students and staff. We have built new principal and staff room, well-equipped washrooms with hand-wash, drinking water station, staircase and main entry. Refurbished the classrooms by adding more lights and fans, new black boards, new flooring, increased the height and installed new roof shade. To ensure year round water supply in the school, we have installed rainwater-harvesting system. Along with this, we have added wall library with 150+ books in each classroom, provided science lab material and kits for different sports, created book club for providing textbooks for 9th and 10th STD students, donated computers.
In our endeavor to provide quality education experience to the students at Wada, Motilal Oswal Foundation upgraded the necessary facilities at five Zilla Parishad Primary schools.
We have built toilet blocks, handwash stations, drinking water stations along with RO filters, sports ground, renovated classroom, etc. To ensure the schools get sufficient water supply throughout the year we have installed rain water harvesting system in all the schools. We are assured that the improved facilities will motivate parents and students to attend school regularly, will have positive impact on their health and learning as well.

As a pilot project the Foundation sponsored E-learning initiative at one of the remote schools in Murbad region. This school caters to tribal children from nearby villages, belonging to families of farm laborers. The children have limited access to the outside world. The school is very happy with the initiative as it has given a new avenue for the children to learn.
