About S.A.L Steel Ltd
S.A.L. Steel Limited is an India-based iron and steel company. The Company is engaged in manufacturing ferro alloys and sponge iron. It produces sponge iron, ferro alloys, power and manganese steel (MS) and stainless steel (SS) angle. Out of the total production 50% of sponge iron is used by Shah Alloys Ltd. and remaining 50% is sold to steel industries and states, such as Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The Company's ferro alloys plant capacity is 60,000 tons per annum. The Company generates Power 40 megawatt from its waste heat recovery boiler and fluidized bed combustion boiler. SAL Steel is a versatile steel, Ferro Alloys and Power Company having operations near Kandla Port in the state of Gujarat in Western India. The company was incorporated in the year 2003. The company is also selling power to various customers from its 40 MW power plant. The company has double advantage of having proximity one of the busiest commercial port and also to the customer of companys finished products. It has been successful in securing long term tie-up for our various raw materials by renowned suppliers. This has led up to achieve consistent high standard of quality in its finished products. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010 (fiscal 2010), its net saleable production of sponge iron was 69,069 million tons, ferro chrome was 11,973.184 million tons and silicon manganese was 2,933.685 million tons. During fiscal 2010, the Company's net saleable production of power was 99,545.930 megawatt hours.
