Technical View: Nifty climbs above all key moving averages
The Nifty 50 resumed uptrend once again after a day of minor correction and gained strength in the last hour of trade on May 16. The index finally decisively crossed 22,300, with climbing above all key moving averages, which is a positive sign. Hence, the next resistance to watch out for would be 22,500-22,600 levels as crossing the same can take the index towards record high placed around 22,800.

Will Bank Nifty see selling pressure intensify as election results near
Bank Nifty has been rangebound since the beginning of the current financial year 2024-25, suffering limited drawdowns amid the election chaos- it is now down about 4% from the all-time high hit at the end of April. However, if the historical technical trends are anything to go by, the banking index may soon see selling pressure intensify in two weeks leading up to the general election result.

📢 At 3:30 PM, the Sensex improved by 676.69 points or 0.93% at 73,663.72, and the Nifty was up 203.30 points or 0.92% at 22,403.85.

Infosys, Tech Mahindra shares rally as hopes of Fed rate cuts rise
The Nifty IT index is up for the fourth straight day on Thursday and is trading with gains of over 1.7%. This is the biggest single-day gain that the index has seen since March this year. All 10 constituents of the Nifty IT index, from Infosys, to TCS, Tech Mahindra, Mphasis and others, are trading with gains. Infosys is the top point contributor on the Nifty 50 index.
