S&P BSE 100 represents the top 100 stocks, based on market capitalisation, listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The S&P BSE 100 is calculated using a free-float market capitalisation-weighted methodology. It means that the index value is determined by considering the total market value of all the constituent stocks. The market capitalisation of each stock is calculated by multiplying its current market price by the number of outstanding shares. The formula for calculating index value is as follows:

The weightage of each stock in the S&P BSE 100 is determined as a percentage of the total market capitalisation of all the stocks in the index.
